  • A New Chapter as a Non-Profit Organisation

An exciting new chapter as Business Club Côte d’Azur is now officially registered as a non-profit organisation! Or better known in France as ‘Association Loi 1901’.

Why we started the club?

We, Robin and Josh, founded the club in 2019 as a way to get in touch with people in the region. Because it can be very difficult to meet people and build a business in a new country. Especially if you don’t speak the French language yet.

It all started as a hobby project but we quickly realised that it’s a much bigger and more common problem than we thought in this region.

Specifically the relaxed atmosphere and easy way of connecting has been proven to be a great formula.

So this is why we started the club and decided to actively develop the community!

What is Association Loi 1901?

Association Loi 1901 is a legal framework in France. Providing organisations like Business Club Côte d’Azur a platform to operate as non-profits. This status not only aligns with the values of the club but also opens up plenty of opportunities.

Business Club Côte d’Azur’s Mission and Vision

At its core, the club is dedicated to fostering business growth, collaboration and connection in the region. The non-profit status reinforces its commitment to these goals. Of course ensuring that every action taken serves the best interests of its members and the community.

Reasons for choosing the Non-Profit Status

In addition to the just mentioned reasons, we always had charitable ambitions due to very personal reasons.

One of which being that Josh his brother, Aäron, had autism amongst other disabilities. He passed away at the young age of 27.

Josh always wanted to organise things for people with autism or disabilities and their caretakers. Not to raise funds or awareness but just to lighten the load of the intense daily care, even if it’s just for a few hours.

In other words, this structure also allows us to give back to people and organise things for causes we care about!

What’s next

Quite a lot. 2023 has been an incredible year during which we increased the frequency of our events, acquired the English speakers on the Riviera project, improved membership plans with added benefits and welcomed lots of new members.

Next year, 2024, we will kick off with a platform for locals and tourists to find English speaking professionals on the French Riviera. And a big project around tech but that’s still a secret!

Official publication

We have declared all paperwork beginning of this month and today, 12 December, the announcement was published in the official government journal.
