We are incredibly proud and happy to announce our recent acquisition of English-speakers on the Riviera from Tricia Teo!
When you move to the French Riviera you will have difficulties finding information. Especially if you don’t speak the language (yet). Simply because you don’t know where to start looking.
Finding information
Our best guess was Googling. And joining Facebook groups to connect, and learn, from others in a similar situation. That is how we found the Facebook group ‘English-speakers on the Riviera‘ – run by Tricia Teo.
It is safe to say that this is one of the most used and highly engaged Facebook groups in the region to help you figuring out the French Riviera life. There are more than 11,000 members in the group which definitely helps to get an answer quick!
The group has proven to be incredibly valuable to us. And we actually used it to promote our first ever event. In fact, this is how it all started!
Other resources
Tricia also created a website to provide helpful information to expats. With articles about buying a property, finding work and so on.
She also created a directory of English-speaking companies. And launched a newsletter with over 3,000 subscribers.
Reason for selling English-speakers on the Riviera project
So you can imagine how happy and proud we are that Tricia reached out to us when she was looking for someone to take over her passion project.
The reason for finding a new owner is that she will be moving back to her home country, Singapore.

‘Hi folks. After 8 years of running this group, I’m really gutted to announce that I will be stepping down as the admin as I will be moving back to my hometown, Singapore.
On the other hand, I’m so excited to announce that Joshua Kennedy and Robin Simons will be taking over the running of the group.
Many of you already know them from the events that they run regularly up and down the Cote d’Azur. I could not think of better hands to leave this group in.
Thank you SO MUCH for all the years of friendship this group has kindled as well as all the support and kindness that you have shown each other.
This community got me out of a dark place when I thought I was going to give up and head back to Singapore 8 years ago but it has grown into one of my biggest achievements and pride today.

The acquisition of English-speakers on the Riviera was unplanned and we actually don’t want to change much. Because if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!
The group has proven to be really valuable to us and we want to continue offering this to anyone (thinking about) living on the French Riviera.
