In this series, we are interviewing members of our club, so that you can get to know each other a bit better. Today we talk with Casper Stang about his life and work in the region.
What brought you to the French Riviera?
I’ve vacationed on the French Riviera for many years. I’m originally from Norway, you can’t resist this sunshine. But it’s not just about the weather.
This place is rich in natural beauty and like an international crossroads – so diverse, so vibrant, so many places to explore. Perfect if you’re someone who thrives on an active way of life.
A few years back, I made the call to rejig my lifestyle so I could spend more time here.
Four years in, and I’m still loving every moment. I don’t see that changing anytime soon!
Could you tell us about your professional career? What do or did you do for work?
I’ve spent my career in the realm of creativity and got my start as a music producer and songwriter as a teenager.
It led to working in the Norwegian music business for many years, which was an exciting time in my life. Music will always be my first love, but my creativity doesn’t stop there.
Design has always been a strong passion, so I eventually launched a design and marketing company focusing mainly on the wellness and fitness industry.
Now I also run Designwave, and we’re changing the game for companies needing top-notch designs done.
What does your company do?

Why did you decide to start your own business?
I caught the entrepreneur bug young as a teenager and haven’t looked back. It’s been a natural evolution for me.
I enjoy the multi-faceted aspects of running a business, from pinpointing the right marketing angle to leading a team. It’s all about creating something that makes an impact in a meaningful way.
And let’s be honest, it doesn’t hurt that it lets me live out all my passions, either.
What is your best advice to others thinking about living or working on the French Riviera?
Jump! The new age of work’s got flexibility written all over it. The area is international with a wide range of opportunities, whether you’re a business owner or job-seeker.
My tip? Fully embrace the culture and lifestyle here, starting with your wardrobe!

Since when do you live on the French Riviera?
I’ve been deeply engaged with the Riviera lifestyle for nearly four years.
Where are you originally from?
Bergen, Norway, born and raised. Plus, clocked in a solid decade in Oslo.
What languages do you speak?
I’ve got Norwegian and English down, and not as much French yet as I’d like. But I’ve found that hand signals, body language, and a smile are universal languages that go a long way!
What is your favourite wine?
A top-tier Sancerre!
What is your favourite spot on the French Riviera?
Antibes is my number one!
What French word do you find difficult to pronounce?
“Mougins”? I usually need a rehearsal or two for that one.
