In this series, we are interviewing members of our club, so that you can get to know each other a bit better. Today we talk with Fabricio Carminati about his life and work in the region.
What brought you to the French Riviera?
I’ve been living in the French Riviera for the last 24 years. So I am a real Niçois now!
I arrived in 1999 after 10 years in Paris, which I loved as well. Before moving to Nice, I used to come every year to visit my parents, and in the end, the weather shock each time going back to Paris had a strong impact on the decision to settle here!
Otherwise, I was born in Venezuela, from Italian parents, meaning blood is 100% Italian. Which makes Nice the perfect place to live for me – not too far from the Italian border!
Could you tell us about your professional career? What do or did you do for work?
I have a double professional background.
I’ve worked in the in hospitality industry for 15 years. Mainly in luxury hotels, with Inter Continental Hotel Group and since 8 years now in the real estate sector.
Two years ago I started my own business in real estate: FRH – French Riviera House Hunting. I started on my own and we are now a team of 7!
What does your company do?
We help expats to find their dream property in the French Riviera whether buying or renting.
FRH provides a fully personalised service and we take care of all the steps and issues to make the process as stressless as possible. We have already helped numerous clients to settle here and we are super happy of having continuous demands and happy clients!
Why did you decide to start your own business?
I’ve worked in “traditional” real estate here in Nice, and I noticed that the buyer, or renter, was not served well enough by the agencies, specially if expat and I decided to create my company to be able to bring that new service in real estate.
I’ve been a member of the club basically since it’s foundation and I believe it’s simply the best Club in town(s) regarding frequentation, prices and networking possibilities.
My only regret is having less time to attend all the events because I’m being more and more busy with the company!
What is your best advice to others thinking about living or working on the French Riviera?
Quite simple; hire us!
This is the best way to buy or rent in the French Riviera, avoiding the hassle of going through a somewhat complicated system.
Also take the time to travel and discover the region before making your final decision.
We are lucky to live in a fantastic region and for those who just arrived, take your time to explore it completely. There’s not only the seaside but a beautiful back country with tons of things to do as well!
