In this series, we are interviewing members of our club, so that you can get to know each other a bit better. Today we talk with Léa Moussiegt about her life and work in the region.
What brought you to the French Riviera?
After being abroad all my childhood, my parents brought me to the French Riviera in 2009. Since then, I have never left.
Also see the interview with my mother, Sylvie Moussiegt who’s also a member of the club, to read more about these expatriate years!
Could you tell us about your professional career? What do or did you do for work?
Yes of course, let’s start from the beginning!
Nursery, kindergarten & elementary school were spent in an International School in Dubai. Here I was able to learn English & literary Arabic, enriching & incredible experiences that allowed me to acquire an open mind from an early age.
At mid-school, I was expatriated in Greece. I went to a French school where I was able to learn modern Greek and Spanish. A total (positive) change of scenery where I was able to learn adaptability & determination!
In high school I was back in France. I joined an American section for 2 years (CIV). And then finished my high school years professionally in a “CAP / BAC Esthétique / Cosmétique – Parfumerie”.
After that I continued on to a BTS “Esthétique / Cosmétique – Parfumerie option formation-marques”. This is when and where I discovered the world of fine perfumery & make-up working for prestigious brands!
I entered a business school for a Bachelor’s degree to study E-commerce with a luxury option, the key word being perseverance. I had to fight hard and show my legitimacy due to my vocational high school background !
Finally, I chose to continue on to Master 1 Marketing & Entrepreneurship and Master 2 Business Strategy & Business Development.
During my apprenticeship years in Master 1 & 2, I carried out internships/work placements within the chemical industry sector.
My first year was as an intern in a SME specializing in food flavors. The second as a apprentice in a multinational company specializing in synthetic/natural fragrances, flavors & ingredients.
What does your company do?
Since January 2023, I have my own company, called “L’Créa – Solutions Marketing”, to help Beauty and Well-being professionals achieve their goals!

Why did you decide to start your own business?
I started my own business to be free, to create & to feel useful !
What is your best advice to others thinking about living or working on the French Riviera?
The French Riviera is an incredible place!
You can find the sea, the mountains, the hinterland. Nature & city are side by side.
There’s so much to discover in both the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes.
Warning though, the sun raises prices !
Great concept for meeting diverse people, speaking English, talking business. Allows you to meet people of different nationalities, who have traveled & who have lots to share!

2009
Where are you originally from?
I’d say France. I was born in Normandy to French parents BUT I had the great opportunity to grow up abroad (thanks to them!).
What languages do you speak?
I speak French (mother tongue) & English. When I was a child I spoke better English than French (thanks to my English-speaking schooling). However over time and without practice I lost a lot.
A few years ago I was fluent in Spanish, but again over the years without practice I lost it almost completely. I’ve been lucky enough to learn other languages, which I don’t speak: Arabic, Greek & Russian
What is your favourite wine?
I do not drink alcohol!
What is your favourite spot on the French Riviera?
The Cap d’Antibes coastline.
What French word do you find difficult to pronounce?
