In this series, we are interviewing members of our club, so that you can get to know each other a bit better. Today we talk with Mette Theilmann about her life and work in the region.
What brought you to the French Riviera? How long have you been here?
Honestly, my husband and I decided to try something new. So, voilà here we are!
Could you tell us about your professional career? What do or did you do for work?
I have supported parents for the last 19 years. Either through private coaching, webinars or blogs. Given the nature of my work, I work closely with schools and other companies who care about their parenting community. I have also just developed an app called ‘Parenting Community‘. The app was built with the purpose to support busy parents with all transition in family life.
So to summarise that, I basically offer parenting support or support parents – just how you like to phrase that.
Why did you decide to start your own business?
The reason that I decided to start my own business was the flexibility of being with my family. This was when my three kids were young!
What would be your best advice to others thinking about living or working on the French Riviera?
Get into a group straight away where you can meet your peers. It’s important to connect and support each other. This is how I found, and why I joined, Business Club Côte d’Azur.

Since when do you live on the French Riviera?
We are living on the French Riviera since 2021.
Where are you originally from?
I am from Denmark.
What languages do you speak?
My mother tongue is Danish, so I speak Danish. And of course English!
What is your favourite wine?
My favourite wine is Pinot Noir.
What is your favourite spot on the French Riviera?
Grasse is my favourite village and spot on the French Riviera because I love the essential oils!
What French word, expression or sentence do you find very difficult to pronounce?
I am always having diffficulties with long words that have hidden letters, lol.
