What brought you to the French Riviera? How long have you been here?
I came to the South of France in the summer of 1983 with my family, as an enfant. My grandparents had a house in Sainte-Maxime and I fell in love with the Côte d’Azur. Three years ago I moved to Antibes with my husband and children and have lived here ever since.
Why did you decide to start your business?
Back in the Netherlands my husband had an employer whom he worked for many years. We thought that we could use the energy, time and dedication he put into his previous job to build something for ourselves. Today, we find it very fulfilling to make decisions for our own future.
What does your company do?
We are the first point of contact (property managers) for second homeowners on the Côte d’Azur. We take care of everything that has to do with your house and boat. Think about: electricity, plumbing, painting, garden and swimming pool work. We also take care of renovating your place from beginning to end and we visit the properties weekly. Our activities are never the same, because every house and client is different.
What makes your business stand out?
Honesty! That is the key to our success. We are very straight forward, people know what to expect from us. We prioritise long-term honest relationships with both our clients and employees.
Why did you decide to become a member of Business Club Côte d’Azur? What do you like most about it?
I became a member of Business Club Côte d’Azur because I really like the founders, Robin and Josh!
Meeting new people is important for us but also for our company. And there’s no better way to do so than in a great environment such as Business Club Côte d’Azur.
Fun facts about Mischa van der Leij!
Do you have any special offers for Business Club members?
Our typical clients aren’t members of the Business Club necessarily. But we can offer advice if there are members who have questions and concerns about their homes.
What is your favourite French wine?
I don’t drink alcohol but I can tell you that I know how to have a great time without it.
What is your favourite spot on the Côte d’Azur?
My favourite place on the Côte d’Azur is the beach. It makes me very happy! Our children can enjoy themselves and my husband and I can relax. That’s a win-win!
What French word do you find very difficult to pronounce?
When it comes to pronunciation I often stumble over my words. French is such a difficult language to learn but I’ll get there!
What is your favourite French expression?
I don’t have a favourite French expression, but I do have this one for you 😉
